AKIRA, the animated film from 1988 is an amazing milestone in hand-drawn animation. For me, the experience of watching it has never been matched. Akira is as cool as it gets.
To be clear, I don't think Akira needs to be remade, but there has been talk of making a live action version of Akira which I think would be a mistake. If it had to be remade, I think it could look cool as animation. Something high quality like a Disney movie.
I'm a fan and wanted a challenge. My goals for this project were to expand my skills using cloth simulations, creating nicer looking characters, as well as new attempts with pyro fire and explosions.
