今回は新潟県湯沢町苗場スキーリゾートに来ています。今から30年前日本は好景気でバブルに沸いた時期がありました。その時に建てられたマンション群が今は負の遺産になっています。バブル崩壊後の景気低迷で客足が年々落ち込みレジャーの多様化とデフレ下で実質所得が低迷したことが背景にあります。今やスキー客は最盛期の8分の１（湯沢町HP目的別観光客数を参照）になっていて過疎化や少子高齢化の進展もあり、スキー場周辺の宿泊施設や飲食店の廃業なども続いておりスキー客の減少につながっている。昨年末から年始にかけてはまとまった雪が降っているものの、近年問題となっている地球温暖化により雪不足が続き営業日数が確保できないスキー場も増えている理由もある。

This time I’m at Naeba Ski Resort in Yuzawa Town, Niigata Prefecture. Thirty years ago, Japan had a booming economy and a bubble. The condominiums built at that time are now a negative legacy.
