1984年8月熊本県阿蘇砂千里ロケで曇りから芝居がスタートして晴れになるのを狙う場面で、生駒(加藤和夫)と小倉(松井範雄)は全く馬を操れない。馬上のリアクションさえ取ろうとしない二人に、黒澤明監督の堪忍袋の緒が切れる。全スタッフも納得の撮影中止。後日再チャレンジとなるが･･･。

In August 1984, Ikoma (Kazuo Kato) and Ogura (Norio Matsui) couldn’t control a horse at all in the scene where the play started from cloudy and aimed at clearing up at the location of Chisato Aso, Kumamoto Prefecture.
