Ousted Myanmar leader Aung San Suu Kyi has gone on trial in what some have called an attempt to nullify her election victory and stop her from running for office again. Ms Suu Kyi was taken into custody in February when army leaders suddenly launched a coup. Htwe Htwe Thein, associate professor in international business at Curtin University, tells The World anti-coup activists are resorting to isolated attacks rather than mass protests to continue pressure against the country’s military junta.
